For businesses
Rent a stall at the Bötzowmarkt
Do you run a small business and would like to sell on the weekly market in the Bötzowviertel on Saturdays? The market management is always looking for additions to the range.
This page tells you which kinds of goods are wanted, how the market is set up and how an enquiry works.
Which businesses are wanted
We are looking above all for food from Italy, Spain, France and Portugal — delicatessen that complements the existing range rather than repeating it.
The market works because the businesses sit well side by side and do not take the same trade from one another. So it is worth a look at the seventeen businesses that stand here today: meat and sausage, pasta, cheese, fruit and vegetables, delicatessen, crêpes, coffee, French patisserie and children's clothing.
That does not mean only these countries qualify. If you bring something that is not here yet, do get in touch.
What goes down well here usually has an origin you can name. Several businesses work organically, the meat comes from higher-welfare farming, and the vegetables mostly from Brandenburg — from the Spreewald, the Prignitz and the surrounding area. The customers who come on Saturdays ask about such things.
The market in numbers
So you can judge what you would be taking on:
Market day: Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Once a week, no other trading
day.
Location: Arnswalder Platz, Pasteurstraße 32, 10407 Berlin, in the
Bötzowviertel in Prenzlauer Berg.
Size: seventeen businesses across eight kinds of goods.
Since: 2008.
The square sits in the middle of a residential area, not on a through road. Customers mostly come on foot and by bike from the neighbourhood. How to get here is on the contact page.
That shapes the market: it is not passing trade but a fixed Saturday appointment for people who live in the quarter. Whoever stands here sees the same faces again. On Google the market has 4.4 out of 5 from 53 reviews.
A note on facilities: some stalls offer card payment, others do not — each business decides for itself. If you plan to, arrange it yourself.
Stall fees
We do not publish the fees. We discuss them case by case — they depend on how wide your stall is and how regularly you come.
Just ask. You will get a concrete figure before you have to decide.
Facilities and times
A rented stall measures 1 × 3 metres. Alternatively you can bring your own sales vehicle.
Power is available, both standard Schuko sockets and three-phase. There is no water connection on the square — bring your own water.
Set-up is between 7:30 and 9:00, take-down by 15:00. That applies to the rented stalls.
How an enquiry works
No form, no application process — an email is enough.
First: send an email with a short description of what you offer. Where the goods come from, how you make or source them, how wide your stall would be.
Second: the market management gets back to you and says whether the kind of goods fits and whether a place is free.
Third: if both are right, you settle fees and details in conversation. It is best to come by on a Saturday once and take a look at the market.
There is no deadline and no application round. If no place is free at the moment, the market management will say so openly — and get in touch when something changes. Asking costs nothing.

Please send stall enquiries by email only. They are not taken over the phone — that way nothing gets lost in passing, and you get your details back in writing.
Or come by on a Saturday between 9 am and 3 pm on the market itself. Then you can see straight away how things work here.
